'Can He Still Feel the Nails' (author unknown) is the song upon which 'For the Shame and the Nails' is based.   I do not think Jesus still feels the nails.  He did it for the joy set before Him. Songs that make us feel guilty or undeserving are just like messages that do.  They push us to the Lord rather than drawing us to the Lord.<p>  However, I do believe our remembrance of His suffering and sacrifice for our complete salvation is special bringing Him glory and us healing.<p>As with other rewrites I try to make the song positive with an invitation for the listeners to come to Christ Jesus and experience abundant life.
