Jesus was talking to Jews who called upon God but denied Jesus as God. In their rejection of Jesus they would stand before God in the judgment and proclaim their works on God`s behalf. But because of their denial of Jesus in the flesh, Jesus would deny them.<p>God is just the generic name for deity. Calling upon God will not save anyone. Jesus is the express image of the only true and living deity. It is in the name Jesus that anyone is saved.
