The body is the vehicle by which man navigates and it is the sensory mechanism by which the man experiences the PhysicalRealm.
The soul is the mind, will and emotions of the man by which he is able to process the inputs from his body about the PhysicalRealm. It is that which imagines, opines, and orders the body to move and to speak.
The spirit is the essence of the man involving his consciousness and his core value system and nature.
Because of OriginalSin the spirit of man died, leaving his soul and body to determine his life. The soul of man readily gives in to the body of man because his spirit is dead. As a result, man in his natural state is CarnalMinded dominated by -> lust of the flesh -> lust of the eye -> PrideOfLife.
For this reason Christ Jesus came to cleanse us of the dead spirit and replace it with a NewSpirit by which we could not only know Him but fellowship with Him.
Having this NewSpirit we have an authority over our soul to shape it to the MindOfChrist so that we no longer have a soul/mind dominated by our body, but a soul that is SpiritualMinded.
