The ^angel^ is the minister of the church of Smyrna.<p>Note who is talking: -> the first and the last -> the One who was dead and is alive.<p>Furthermore, note that it says ^which^ indicating that the One who died and rose again is the first and the last.<p>The ^first and last^ what?  The answer is given in Rev 1:8.<p>Jesus is the Almighty and His HolySpirit is the One who speaks the Word through His Body.
