So many pretend to be good when the truth is they have gone to the ^king^ presenting themselves as whores for his favors (money).<p>When a nation or individual turns from the Truth it turns to itself.  It justifies itself.  America is grossly immoral, yet it sees itself as good remembering its glory days while refusing to see the truth about itself.
