Our resurrection is assured by Christ Jesus resurrection.<p>As to the use of the term `sleep` Paul is speaking to how we appear to people when we die.  We appear asleep but as Paul says in 2Co 5:8 we are immediately in the presence of Christ Jesus when we die.
