Thanks - you made my day. My sister did the DNA test and very consistent with being from the right Lucas clan. I also believe that Aaron's son Thomas is the Thomas who moved to Warren Co., OH. I have fought hard to have him there for 30 years - since 1992. I have un-merged the two Thomas' many times. I won't get into the history
There are a few problems which I haven't figured out how to over-come..
1) The author and guru of Thomas Lucas of Warren county (Dr. John F Vallentine) could not tell if that Thomas Lucas was the son of Frantz or the grandson of Frantz. He left his original pedigree with Thomas Lucas being the son of Frantz. There is no definitive proof of which one.
I believe the Moses Younglove letter to his nephew and also Thomas' calculated age of death indicates that Thomas Lucas of Warren Co. is the son of Aaron.
2) Because of Dr. Vallentine's original research, people refer to Thomas Lucas of Warren County as Thomas Lucas b: 1730 which makes Thomas the son Frantz by default. So people do not want to read and think so they merge the two Thomas Lucas' together making him Thomas b: 1730 - no matter what comments I added..
3) Because so many people merge the two Thomas' into one Thomas b: 1730, son of Frantz, and may be hard to undo the merge, I have to create a new Thomas Lucas b: 1741. In that case, there are the sources, notes, and discussions (with possible duplicates) for Thomas b: 1730 and none for Thomas b: 1741.
So I decided to have the Thomas more likely not to be deleted in a merge to have the sources. (I don't like it but less work for the inevitable!) I would like to have actual three Thomas' - Thomas b: 1730, Thomas b: 1741 and Thomas of Warren County with the first two Thomas' later years linked / abstracted to the 3rd Thomas' later years where the source could be located.
I have the 'preferred' father of Thomas of Warren Co. being Aaron to get people used to that relationship. Before I leave this earth, I hope to move the sources to this Thomas and delete the father relationship to Frantz. (I believe Frantz' sons Thomas and Abraham died before adulthood since Moses that Frantz had several sons but only mentioned his uncles Francis and Aaron by name.)
4) I tried having one Thomas Lucas of Warren County with father Frantz and alternative father Aaron. But each of them really do have a son Thomas AND people want to fill in the birth year of 1730 which makes him the son of Frantz.
Adding the links for Dr. John F. Vallentine - hope they work.
