Title: When chaos and disorder becomes your norm

Have you ever entered a person's house to find it completely dishevelled and littered with trash accumulated over years, with a stench and an unhealthy pall hanging over it?

But there are still people living there?   For those who value 'cleanliness next to godliness' such is a sad, perplexing and distasteful experience.

But there are still people living there!

How can it be that filth, clutter and rot can be comfortable to anyone?   Why don't they clean up the mess and make their home a beautiful and uplifting place to be?

You would be surprised how many people live in squalor even when they can afford to do better and have the strength to do better.   Again, why is this?

There are people who keep reasonably clean homes but whose automobiles reflect the filth, trash and stench of the aforementioned home owners.

What is wrong with these people?

It is said that the pig farmer eventually gets used to the stench of the pig sty and the stains of the slop on his overalls.

Why do I mention all this about unkempt houses and autos?

We just elected a president and an administration to clean up our house - America.

But to the surprise of MAGA types - the ones with clean homes and autos - there are many thousands, if not millions, of people who prefer the unkempt, filthy, stinking America.   Why?   Because it is what they are accustomed to - what they are able to function in.

Unfortunately, in America we all live in the same house and drive the same automobile.   Unlike the private homeowner or auto owner the interior of whose house or auto is hidden from us, the interior of America is where we live.

Oftentimes the people who prefer filth over cleanliness have terrible habits/addictions - smoking, drinking, drugs, sex, laziness, etc.   These addictions are typically more expensive than they can afford.

We have reached a point in America where those who dirty the house and blow resources that could be used to improve the house are fighting those who want to clean it up and ensure that the house will continue into the future.

Why?   They are used to the filth, the trash, the stench.   They thrive in it - sort of like rats and roaches.

The question we are facing is serious: Will we give in to the rats and roaches so that America continues to spiral downward into a garbage pit, or will we eliminate the rats and roaches by cutting off the trash and waste on which they have been feeding?

To eliminate an infestation it often requires much determination on the part of the exterminator.   In some situations the initial treatment eliminates the adults but leaves the eggs untouched.   Successive rounds of treatment must be applied until enough time has passed to verify the property is sanitary.

If anyone reads into this article that I am advocating violence that is on their part.   I am simply pointing out that it is possible for abnormal behaviour to become normalized for those who spend enough time in the environment of that behavior.
We see this in abortion acceptance.
We see this in homosexuality acceptance.
We see this in budget deficit acceptance.
We see this in illegal immigration acceptance.
We see this in habitual lying.

Good requires commitment.
Health requires commitment.
Cleanliness requires commitment.
Morality requires commitment.
Fiscal sanity requires commitment.

Evil requires NO commitment.
Sickness requires NO commitment.
Filthiness requires NO commitment.
Immorality requires NO commitment.
Indebtedness requires NO commitment.

So, we see who has the advantage - the rats and roaches.
