The beauty of the earth cannot be seen at night.   

The pile of manure cannot be seen in the dark.   

So light enables us to see the good and avoid the evil.   

Have you ever cleaned something in the shadows without direct light only to move that object into the bright sunlight and see how dirty it still is?   

Have you ever shown a light into a dark corner to discover the filth there?   

Our world is in the shape it is in because the light of the Word has not been shown on it.   As a result it has become filthy with people not even recognizing the filth.   

The Word Of The Lord reveals
   → His mind,
   → His heart,
   → His value system,
   → His standard of performance,
   → our need for a Saviour.   

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psm 119:105 The Word Of The Lord is given to us to keep us from falling and to enable us to see the good Path for our lives.      To be disconnected from the Word is to be in darkness and so to stumble, fall and end up in a sorry place.

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psm 119:130 The Word of the Lord is the light of Truth.     It enables us to understand the things of our Lord.     It enables us to fellowship with Him in Spirit and in Truth.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear?     behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it. Jer 6:10 We are at one of those times when the Word Of The Lord is a reproach to much of the population.     Some call this the post-Christian era having determined that the Written Word and the Incarnate Word are passe.      We are not only to hear, believe, receive and do the Word but we are to delight in it.     For this to happen our minds have to be transformed by it.

Ye have wearied the Lord with your words.     Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him?     When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the Lord of judgment? Mal 2:17 Good and evil are only known by hearing the Word Of The Lord.     In the absence of the Word men are left to decide for themselves what is good and what is evil.     This is where we are today.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 2Pe 1:19 The Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah were fulfilled in Christ Jesus.     By reading the prophecies and meditating on them the Holy Spirit will reveal to you that Jesus is Messiah and you will know Him in your heart.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord. Mat 4:4 This is not just a response to put Satan off.     But, more importantly, it is a statement of Spiritual Law which clearly elevates the importance of every Word Of The Lord.     We cannot experience Abundant Life without abiding in His Word.      Just as food is necessary for Physical Life, the Word Of God is necessary for Spiritual Life.     the Lord is a Spirit so we can only relate to Him in Spirit and in Truth by faith.     We need the Holy Spirit of the Lord and we need the Word Of The Lord.
