As a result, when they see a believer commit sin they assume that the person is no longer saved.   Hence they do not believe in Eternal Security and so refer to those who do as Once Saved Always Saved people.   

I maintain that if a believer is not `always saved` they were never `once saved`.   

There have been way too many people come to Christ by default but who never had a personal relationship with Him.   

`By default` I mean some people become `Christians` because of their parents, friends and exposure to church.   They never believed in their hearts.   Rom 10:9,10

If you are one of those believers who lives in fear of backsliding I encourage you to pray and read the Word until your heart knows that you are saved.   

If you have never received Christ Jesus by virtue of Heart Faith in the Gospel listen to these verses, believe them in your heart and you will be Born Again experiencing Spirit Salvation.   

For the Holy Spirit so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh 3:16 The Holy Spirit is the eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent Creator of all things by the Word.      What world is John speaking of?         → The earth and all the people born into humanity.      The Holy Spirit is love and love is of the Holy Spirit.      The world was created by our Lord and it is good.     We know that man chose rebellion against the Holy Spirit and so humanity became evil.     But the Holy Spirit loves the people of this world and so He birthed Christ Jesus into the world to redeem it and us.      The Gospel is heard and those who are hungry are lead by the Holy Spirit to believe and receive the Truth.      The Truth sets us free from sin, from death and hell and brings us to Eternal Life by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.      Here is understanding:    → Everlasting Life is Eternal Life    → Eternal Life is union with the Holy Spirit.

Herein is love, not that we loved the Holy Spirit, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1Jn 4:10 The love of the Holy Spirit cannot be compared with human love.

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa 1:18 Interestingly, we find God wanting man to Reason with Him.     Why?     Because what God determined to do makes no sense to the Religious Mind.     So, God wants us to listen very carefully to His Words and reconsider previous positions and thinking.      What is the issue that we need to seriously Meditate on in order to grasp?      It is the issue of Grace Through Faith in the Finished Work of Christ Jesus.      God is saying that our Sins are deep, dark scarlet stains but by virtue of what Christ Jesus did in His Sacrifice and Victory over Death, Hell and the Grave, we are now as white as snow.      In God`s eyes we are Perfect In Christ.     This is the amazing Truth of the unadulterated Gospel.      If you know someone who has mixed Grace and Legalism into their faith, Reason with them with this verse so they can be Free Indeed.

That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that His Holy Spirit has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Rom 10:9 This is the encapsulation of Grace, clearly pointing out our part which is faith in Jesus and confession of Him as risen Lord and Saviour.      The implication of our part being to believe on Jesus Christ and confess Him as risen Lord, is that He has done everything else!      It is why we call it amazing Grace!      It is why the gospel is nearly too good to be true!      Who raised Jesus from the dead?      He raised Himself Joh 10:17,18 by His Holy Spirit Rom 8:11.

For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:10 It is Heart Faith that enables the miracle of the New Birth.      It is our personal confession of Jesus as Mighty God, Creator and loving Saviour that seals that miracle.

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of the Holy Spirit: Eph 2:8 We are saved because the Holy Spirit willed it Heb 8:12 and made it possible and legal through the shed blood of Jesus Christ Heb 10:10.      Salvation is totally an act of His unmerited favor - Grace.     Our part is to have faith in His Word - the Written Word and the Incarnate Word Act 16:31.      We have all been given The Measure Of Faith Rom 12:3.      It is that gift of faith than enables us to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ through whom we receive Grace 2Pe 1:3.      Once we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Faith Of Christ which is a fruit of His Holy Spirit provides all the benefits of Grace Rom 5:2.      The Faith Of Christ is the foundation of Grace Rom 5:19.      We are not supposed to trust in our faith but, rather, trust in the Faith Of Christ - the faith that is the fruit of the Holy Spirit Phi 2:8-11.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house. Act 16:31 We connect The Measure Of Faith that the Lord gave us at birth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we are born of His Holy Spirit and so become Sons Of The Holy Spirit.      Note that this verse does not tell us to believe on the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.     It tells us to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who is:    → the Father    → the Son    → the Holy Spirit This is what Chrisitanity is all about - recognizing God in Christ Jesus so that we no longer flounder around in speculation and confusion.         → Jesus is the Way to God.         → Jesus is the Truth about God.         → Jesus is the Life of God.         → Jesus is God.
