Fear is negative faith. It is faith in something other than the love and promises of God.
Unbelieving is rejection of the Word of God as revelation of Truth.
Now, it is entirely appropriate to classify those who are outside of Christ as Fearful And Unbelieving.
However, over and over Jesus reprimanded His disciples about their fear and unbelief. Yes, even followers of Christ can be Fearful And Unbelieving.
Why did the disciples lapse into fear from time to time? They forgot the words, healings and miracles of Christ Jesus.
Why did the disciples lapse into unbelief from time to time? They forgot the words, healings and miracles of Christ Jesus.
Why do you think they forgot such powerful demonstrations of Christ`s lordship? They were Carnal Minded followers.
Why do Christians today lapse into fear and unbelief? They are Carnal Minded.
Jesus expects us to be Spiritual Minded because of the Spiritual Law in .
Remember, we are saved by Grace through faith. Without faith there is no appropriation of Grace and hence, no salvation.
Faith is not optional.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to the Lord must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
Lazily vascillating between faith and unbelief (as the disciples did) is being Double Minded. As James said, Double Minded people receive nothing from God.
So, if you are Double Minded you need to Purify Your Heart.
Let me ask this question: " Do you know beyond shadow of doubt that you are saved?"
If you cannot give a resounding "YES" to this question you are most likely in the Fearful And Unbelieving state and you are in fact, not saved!
If you think this is a harsh assessment, remember that you are saved through faith. Faith is not hope so or maybe so or anything less that total assurance.
Now, let me be kind here. If you are Fearful And Unbelieving you probably have been taught by well-meaning but false prophets. So, you need to clear your mind and heart of the conflicting, corrupted Gospel that you have been fed.
To do this you must open the scriptures yourself and allow the Truth to be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit.
You must believe in your heart! That means you are convinced, you have no doubt, you know that Jesus Christ has redeemed you and birthed you into His kingdom by the Holy Spirit.
On what basis can you have such assurance?
You must believe the Word of God in your heart to be saved. Do not let Satan steal your salvation by injecting any measure of doubt in your heart.
The greatest offense you can commit is to doubt God (His Word). It is worse than any physical sin you can imagine. Do not do it!
Those who do so will be cast into the Lake Of Fire.
