There is nothing wrong with doing Good. Jesus went about doing Good.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. -
The Good that Jesus did is clarified in this verse. Healing them and setting them Free is how His doing Good played out.
Christians began redefining "doing Good " because of Unbelief. They stopped believing what Christ said:
Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. -
So, they became nurses rather than surgeons. Instead of fixing the problem as a surgeon would they simply comforted and cared for the sufferer in their agony as a nurse would.
There is value in comforting and caring for those who are suffering but relieving them of their condition is preferable .
When the sufferer is Healed they go from being sick to being Whole. Instead of focusing on survival they begin to Live Abundantly.
So, don`t stop being a Do Gooder. Just add the blood of Jesus Christ and your testimony to the Good deed.
