Love Of The Truth is a by-product of revelation of the Truth.   

Jesus is the Truth.   

When we receive the Truth the seed is planted.   When we love the Truth the seed is nurtured and it produces life.   

When a person hears the Truth and does not receive the Love Of The Truth they are ultimately deceived by Satan and become Lovers Of Lies.   

Let`s look at the verse above in context.   

Now we beseech you, brothers, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2Th 2:1 'The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ ' initiates the Day Of The Lord.      'Our gathering together unto Him' is the Rapture.

That you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 2Th 2:2 The Day Of Christ is the Day Of The Lord.     It is that day when    ➛ the Lord returns,    ➛ catches His saints into the air,    ➛ destroys the wicked and the works of their hands,    ➛ sets foot on the Mount of Olives and    ➛ celebrates the Marriage Supper in Jerusalem.      We are not to fear the events that will transpire leading up to the return of Christ nor those events on the Day Of Wrath.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2Th 2:3 Do not be deceived!     This warning is always associated with the End Times.      'That day' is the Day Of The Lord Jesus Christ.      The Falling Away will happen as a result of    ➛ false teaching leading to false expectations    ➛ deceitfulness of sin and its legitimization    ➛ turning from the Word and fellowship in the Holy Spirit.      The 'man of sin' is the beast, the antichrist.      The revelation of the beast is accompanied by    ➛ a complete disavowal of sin    ➛ denial of Jesus Christ    ➛ glorification of humanity.

Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called the Lord, or that is worshipped; so that he as the Lord sits in the temple of the Lord, showing himself that he is the Lord. 2Th 2:4 If there is no Creator then man is god.      This is the underpinning premise of the Antichrist`s kingdom.

Remember you not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 2Th 2:5 Apparently Paul had given more detail about the Day Of The Lord when he was ministering in person at Thesolonica.     Unfortunately, he does not repeat the revelation of who it is that withholds and what is being withheld so that the next verse is left unclear.

And now you know what withholds that he might be revealed in his time. 2Th 2:6 'What withholds' is not specified here though it no doubt was when Paul ministered in person at Thessalonica.      The 'he' and 'his' are not associated with a particular being in this passage.      I rather think that `what withholds` is Michael, the archangel Dan 10:13,20,21 Dan 12:1.      There are many who believe it is the church.      While yet others believe that it is the Holy Spirit.      The fact that there are Christians on the earth at the time of Jesus` return counters the supposition that the church is withholding.      The fact that the Holy Spirit is in the body of believers who are still on earth at the return counters the supposition that the Holy Spirit is withholding.      The 'man of sin', the beast, is to whom the 'he' and 'his' refer.

For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now lets will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2Th 2:7 Satan is the mystery of iniquity.         ➛ Who he was.         ➛ Who he now is.         ➛ Why he rebelled.         ➛ What his plan is Michael (see comment on 2Th 2:6) is 'he who now lets' contending with Satan and keeping him from unleashing the fulness of his raw evil.      When Michael is taken out of the way Rev 12:7-10 Satan will incarnate himself in the beast, the Anti Christ.      At that point, he will manifest lying wonders with which to deceive the whole world.

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2Th 2:8 The wicked beast, the Anti Christ will appear for a short time.      Christ will return to destroy and consume him in the Day Of Wrath,

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2Th 2:9 Satan is the force behind the beast, the Anti Christ, enabling him to do signs and lying wonders.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2Th 2:10 The beast will exercise influence and power over all those who have received his mark, name or number.      Those in his power did not receive a Love Of The Truth through Christ Jesus and so were deceived,

And for this cause the Lord shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2Th 2:11 Not having a Love Of The Truth resulted in them falling under the power of Strong Delusion to believe the lie of the Anti Christ.      Men are born in darkness.      Those who hear the Gospel (light and Truth) and receive it enter into light and Truth.      Those who hear and reject he Gospel not only remain in the darkness in which they were born, but by knowingly and willfully rejecting the light and Truth of Jesus Christ, they enter into Gross Darkness out of which there in no escape as they have blasphemed the Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus.      Such are damned.

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Th 2:12 Damnation is the end result of rejection of the Truth, believing the lie and worshipping unrighteous pleasure.

So, we see that it is the spirit of antichrist which wars against the Truth.   

The Spirit of antichrist sits in the temple of God.   Our bodies are the temple of God.   

Those who refuse the Truth automatically receive the spirit of antichrist.   

Their minds and hearts become subject to spiritual strongholds of delusion.   

And even as they did not like to retain the Lord in their knowledge, the Lord gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are improper; Rom 1:28 Men 'did not like to retain God in their knowledge'.     This means that they once knew there was a God but chose to disavow Him because they did not like Him.      Every human being is born with a sense that there is a Supreme Being.      On what basis does a person decide to reject the notion of God?      Rebellion .      Every other explanation they offer is just cover for the fact that they hate God and wish that He did not exist.     Such are children of Satan - the first rebel.      This is why repentance is needed to come to God in Christ Jesus.     One must see themselves as a rebel in opposition to the very One who created them and loved them enough to die for their reconciliation to Himself.      Those who persist in their rebellion against God spiral down eventually getting to the point where they are unreachable by the Truth.      Such end up with Reprobate Minds because they knowingly and willfully reject the Truth, Jesus Christ.      There are two major results of this:    ➛ they do things which are self-destructive    ➛ the Holy Spirit ceases to draw them.

A reprobate mind is one which rejects the Truth of Christ Jesus.   

Why does our society persist in swallowing lies which are obvious lies?   The answer is here in this verse:

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2Th 2:10 The beast will exercise influence and power over all those who have received his mark, name or number.      Those in his power did not receive a Love Of The Truth through Christ Jesus and so were deceived,

Either a person has a Love Of The Truth or they don`t.   To love something is to value it highly.   

Those on the left do not have a Love Of The Truth.   As a matter of fact, they hate the truth and have become Lovers Of Lies.   Yet, we allow them to hold leadership roles in our society.   
Do we as a society have a Love Of The Truth?
