| The soul is who we are that relates to the physical universe. It is the second part of our nature below spirit and above body.
The soul is our consciousness, our mind, will and emotions.
The mind is what we know and how we process what we know.
The emotions is how we feel about what we know.
The will is how we decide to react to what we know and how we feel about. And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. |
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. |
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? |
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. |
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which enters into that within the veil; |
Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brothers, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: |
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; |
