Title: Moral excellence

Definition:
- moral excellence; virtue.
- kindly feeling; kindness; generosity.

First occurrence
And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the Lord had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show kindness on whom I will show kindness.
Preincarnate Jesus speaks to Moses about His goodness and may have even given Him His name.     He tells Him of His Grace that comes out of His goodness and His love.     How that He will be merciful out of His own goodness.

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
The amazing Grace of the Holy Spirit through faith In Christ Jesus will never leave us.     Our place is In Christ, in His Holy Spirit Father, in heaven where we now abide spiritually and will one day abide in full redemption.

He loves righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
The Lord`s nature is goodness and love and beauty.     And so His creation reflects His nature.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Christians aught to be shouting the praises of the Lord Jesus Christ as the darkness of rebellion settles over the world.     Some will hear and some will understand and enter into Eternal Life.

It is noteworthy that David, the king of Israel, did not issue an edict for the people to praise the Lord.     He knew that such praise would be worthless.     Rather, he is expressing a prayer for their revelation of His praiseworthiness.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdues my people under me.
You may have heard older people respond to news that shocked them by saying `my goodness!`

I thought this was just a mild epithet when I heard it as a child.     And well it may have become that, but its origin is this scripture where David called the Lord `My Goodness`.

Just as many other Gospel revelations were given to David, so it is with this one.     We are the righteousness of the Lord In Christ Jesus, so He is `My goodness!`

And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brothers, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
Always encourage others with a prophecy over them.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
The fruit of the Holy Spirit is supernatural fruit.
Holy Spirit fruit is powerful and dependable.
human fruit is weak and fickle - undependable.

Only when you are filled by and walk in the Holy Spirit can you manifest the character and power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Walking in the Spirit makes the Law a moot point.

The Goodness of the New Covenant - Barry Bennett
Some remain stuck in the mindset of the Old Covenant curses, or Job`s ignorance, and never fully understand the glory of the New Covenant, the new creation, and the goodness of God for His children.

We can continue to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (curses, judgement, loss, suffering, etc).   or we can eat from the Tree of Life ( Jesus).   Here are some New Covenant truths, promises and declarations that should be the foundation of our faith.
Glory to the Lord in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
The good will is from the Lord toward man.     For a person to have peace with the Lord they must receive His peace which comes by faith in Christ Jesus.

(For he says, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured you: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation).
Many hear the Gospel of Grace in vain by not believing and receiving it.

Those who would think they can put the Holy Spirit off are guilty of the sin of self-worship which offends the Holy Spirit.     When the Holy Spirit is offended He simply does not deal with the offender again.     Hence, they will never have a desire for the Lord.

Today is the day of salvation.     Grace is not offered as a gift certificate, redeemable at the individual`s discretion.

For the Son Of Man is not come to destroy men`s lives, but to save them.     And they went to another village.
The love and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is the message of the hour.

The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The thief is Satan who is the inspiration for all the evil in the world.
Whereas the `I` is Jesus who offers us Eternal Life and Abundant Life.

This verse is a powerful statement contrasting the nature of the enemy with the nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Note that the enemy takes by force what is ours, while we must appropriate by faith what is ours in Christ Jesus.
The appropriation is not a `one and done` thing.     Rather, it is an ongoing process throughout our lives on this earth.

Jesus has given us His life in giving us His Holy Spirit who is in every believer who has asked to be filled.     We aught to invoke His life into every aspect of our walk in the earth.

Hitherto have you asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Up to this point the disciples hsd spoken to God as YHVH, referring to Him as Lord.     Now, Jesus tells His disciples to speak to YHVH using the name Jesus.

In the Name Of Jesus is literally using the name, Jesus .

The Lord wants us to be joyful.     The second fruit of His Holy Spirit is joy.     Expect it, claim it and walk in it.     It is part of your inheritance in Christ Jesus.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace.     In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
The peace that passes understanding is that which delivers us from the Fear Of Death.

There is nothing that can come against us for which Christ has not made us overcomers.

The world is corrupted by sin which has resulted in hatred, violence, sickness, disease and death.
But we are New Spirit beings In Christ and therefore are more than conquerors in all things.

Our Faith In Christ realized by the power of His Holy Spirit in us enables us to face the issues of life unfazed, actually remaining cheerful through them while waiting for victory.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
A logical conclusion that is rock solid.

Who is the ` `He`?
The Holy Spirit Father of Christ Jesus.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the HolySpiritCreator of truth and beauty, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Only good things come from the Lord.
He does not change over time and He is always Good and Light and Truth.

The enemy, Satan, is the inspiration for all that is evil.     Nothing good comes from the enemy.

Never accuse the Lord of causing or condoning evil.     That is confusing Him with Satan.     It is blasphemy.

And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
That blessing is both spiritual and material.

How the Holy Spirit Father anointed Jesus of Nazareth with Himself and His power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for the Holy Spirit was in him.
The anointing that Jesus had was the unique anointing of the Holy Spirit Father incarnating Himself in the body of Jesus .      The Holy Spirit was in Him speaking His Words and doing His works .

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give good things to them that ask him?
Most human parents give to their children what they ask if they can.     Our Heavenly Father is not limited on resources and so He will give us whatsoever we ask of Him.

It is interesting that Mary heard Jesus say something that Matthew did not .      What was that?     That our Heavenly Father will give Himself to those who ask for Him.     It is out of His presence and power in our lives that all good things flow.

The way our Lord gives us good things is through His Holy Spirit in us.

For the Holy Spirit so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The Holy Spirit is the eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent Creator of all things by the Word.

What world is John speaking of?
The earth and all the people born into humanity.

The Holy Spirit is love and love is of the Holy Spirit.

The world was created by our Lord and it is good.     We know that man chose rebellion against the Holy Spirit and so humanity became evil.     But the Holy Spirit loves the people of this world and so He birthed Christ Jesus into the world to redeem it and us.

The Gospel is heard and those who are hungry are lead by the Holy Spirit to believe and receive the Truth.

The Truth sets us free from sin, from death and hell and brings us to Eternal Life by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Here is understanding:
    Everlasting Life is Eternal Life
Eternal Life is union with the Holy Spirit.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that the Holy Spirit Father is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Pure light, pure Truth, pure love is the Holy Spirit.     no shadow of darkness at all in Him.

These are just a few of the many declarations found in the New Covenant that should form the basis of our faith.   God is good!
