When a person is asked to give a speech it is important that they are engaged in the subject and message of the speech.
Otherwise, they are uncomfortable and unconvincing.
We are commanded to pray:
And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; |
Pray without ceasing. |
But prayer should not be forced and it should not be uncomfortable or insincere.
Therefore obeying the command to pray requires that we become oriented toward prayer so that it is natural and flows from a desire to pray and recognition of the fellowship it represents.
I see believers all the time that are reluctant to pray in public. I have no idea about their private prayer life but that reluctance is indicative of a problem.
➛ thanksgiving should be part of our consciousness
➛ praise should always be on our lips
➛ when we pray we develop patterns which should be readily available
The opportunity to pray should be seen as an opportunity to testify of the Lord Jesus Christ and His blessings upon you.
When you are done saying something specific, say Amen.
Otherwise, you fall into the pharisee's style of praying which is religious and not relational.
Flowing In Prayer is a result of
➛ thankfulness
➛ praisefulness
➛ faithfulness
So, if you are not Flowing In Prayer you need to spend time
➛ thinking about all your blessings,
➛ thinking about how great, good and loving God is,
➛ reading His Word to build up your faith and
➛ praying in the Spirit to build up your most holy faith.
By practicing these you will build up a repertoire of things to mention in prayer so that you have to choose how much you share in any prayer you pray.
Such will result in Healthy Prayer as you start Flowing In Prayer rather than stumbling in prayer.
