The Catholic organization claims authorship of the Bible.
Catholics did not write the Bible. Since Catholics claim Peter as their first pope, they can claim they wrote 2 letters in the Bible.
The Bible was written by men of God under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit constrained by Him to speak Truth. In other words, the Bible is the product of the Holy Spirit of Truth who is the Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus who IS the Truth.
Promotion of man-made organizations above promoting the Word and the Spirit Of Christ Jesus is wrong regardless of whether it is the Catholic Church, a Protestant Denomination or an Independent Church.
Such promotion is an aspect of idolatry manifesting as a result of man's need to be important, to be in charge.
The error the Catholic Church made early on is the same error that the major Protestant Denominations made - their leaders did not trust the Word and Holy Spirit to manage believers.
This lack of trust evidenced their lack of trust and intimacy with Christ.
The Apostle Paul, who introduced Salvation By Grace Through Faith to the world, was resisted by the Jewish believers whose history and inclination was ritual and ceremony.
Obviously, the Catholic Church is an offshoot of Judaism, simply replacing the forms of Judaism with 'Christian' rituals.
We know that Jesus' purpose in coming to earth was to reconcile us to Himself with the perfection of that reconciliation being found in Holy Spirit Baptism and our translation at His return . John the Baptist tells us that .
So, while the church at Jerusalem was constructing a Judeo Christian form of Christianity the Holy Spirit and Paul were bringing Gentiles, who knew nothing about Judaism, into a simple but direct and powerful relationship with Christ through Faith, Confession and Spirit Baptism .
Organization does win out in the secular world. So it was and so it is now a fact that those leaders who successfully PACKAGE Christianity enjoy the largest popularity and growth.
You will not hear the heavily organized churches quoting this verse as it is directed toward them:
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. |
Remember this: There is no relationship you have with any person or organization that can substitute for you being In Christ. To be In Christ you must receive His Word into your mind and heart and be filled with His Holy Spirit whereby you understand His Word and are empowered to live it.
