Why don't you liquidate some of your wealth and do something about poverty?
You know that if you did so the Vatican would very soon be impoverished along with those you 'helped'.
Christ did not, nor does He expect us to, throw our prosperity into bottomless pits.
The Gospel has the power to save a person's soul which it that part of them that thinks and decides what it will do.
People who reject the Gospel are left with carnal minds which eat all of their harvest so they have nothing to sow for the next harvest.
Jesus said 'the poor you have with you always' in recognition that not everyone will receive the Gospel and have their minds and wills changed so that they begin to sow and reap and move out of poverty.
Lastly, giving is a personal thing - a person to person thing. In such a transaction the giver and the receiver are blessed.
If you steal from me and give it to a poor person, I get no blessing, you get no blessing and the receiver only receives part of the blessing because he knows you are a thief and personally gave him nothing.
He is cut off from his benefactor and their testimony of Christ Jesus.
So, admit that you are just a socialist in the same mold as those governments who tax hard-working, family supporting, church giving people so that they can pretend to be good with other people's money.
